Obtain your PVC else Poll Shift will be a Watse, says Emir Sanusi

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, on Tuesday urged residents within his domain to allow their wives to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the expiration of INEC deadline. Sanusi, made the call at a news briefing in Kano, where he enjoined residents to ensure the collection of their PVCs.

“Reports reaching us indicate that many registered eligible voters are yet to go and obtain
the PVCs.

“We are emphasizing that people should go and collect it because only those with the card can vote,” he said.

The Emir noted that the postponement of the elections and extension of the period for the collection of the PVCs had given people the opportunity to obtain their cards.

According to him, the population of the state would not be of any benefit to its citizens if at the end of the day people refuse to obtain the PVCs.

“Kano state is second with about 5 million voters. So our population will not be of any benefit to us if we fail to collect the PVCs,” he said.

Sanusi, therefore, called on religious leaders and traditional rulers in the 44 local government areas to continue to enlighten the people on the
importance of the voter card.

He called for continuous prayers for the sustenance of peace in the state and the country
as a whole.
