FRSC Boss Commends Ajimobi for Prudent Management of Resources

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has been commended for ensuring prudent management of the meager resources available to the state and for putting the state on a pedestal of development. The Corps Marshall and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, gave the commendation in Ibadan on Wednesday during a courtesy call and investiture of the governor as the Patron of the Corps in the state in his office.

Oyeyemi noted that despite the dwindling federal allocation to the state, the governor had continued to execute massive infrastructural projects for the benefit of the people.

``Oyo State under your administration has been setting the pace. I want to commend Your Excellency. I was here few months ago and I could see the massive infrastructural development despite the fact that you did not borrow a dime to do this.

``For me, it is a pride that we could see and that we believe there is future for this country. With the prudent usage of funds, you have shown exemplary leadership,’’ he said.

The FRSC boss pledged the readiness of the FRSC to partner with the state government in the training of officers of the state traffic management agency to improve their performance in traffic management and safety administration.

The Corps Marshall said that Oyo State had remained one of the few states in the country with an effective management agency, stressing that it had become the responsibility of the FRSC to offer some technical expertise to the agency for optimum performance.

According to him, the state has 531 indigenes in the FRSC, with 180 officers and 347 marshals, with one of them at the top management level.

In his response, Governor Ajimobi lauded the activities of FRSC in the state, especially in the reduction of accidents on the road, stressing that the Corps had remained a pride to the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole.

He charged other agencies to emulate the administrative and managerial efficiency of the corps, adding that his administration would continue to support the FRSC for effective performance.

Governor Ajimobi said that his administration had restored the lost glory of the state through the transformation, restoration and repositioning policy of the state government
