LONDON — Kensington Palace, home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, sent its first tweet to the world Wednesday morning.
Within one hour of joining it had over 6,500 new followers.
A spokesman for Kensington Palace told Mashable it has also joined Instagram and Storify.
"There will be updates from their engagements and charitable endeavours," the spokesman said, adding that there were no immediate plans for the young royals to tweet personally via the accounts.
Kensington Palace joins @clarencehouse, which gives update, pictures and videos about the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall and @britishmonarchy, which tweets about activities in Buckingham Palace and activities of the royal family.
