War In Taraba Will Stop Once I Become Governor - Darius Dickson Ishaku

The immediate-past minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Architect Darius Dickson Ishaku, has said that the war in his home state of Taraba would stop the moment he is elected governor of the state.

Speaking during a send off dinner in his honour by staff of the ministry, in Abuja, the governorship hopeful said the warring factions would be reunited when he assumes office as governor.
“Taraba will be turned around. I cannot say about the whole North-East, but one thing I can tell you is that in Taraba State, the war in my state will stop once I get there,” he said.

The out-going minister, who resigned his ministerial position to run for governorship of Taraba State, urged all governorship hopefuls to exhibit high sense of maturity in the race.

“We politicians should provide a just and fair playing ground otherwise, democracy itself will be meaningless. When democracy is not played on a level field, then it is meaningless,” he said.

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Stephen Orise Oru, remarked that “Your endorsement by General T.Y. Danjuma was an indication that we will be having this kind of gathering again in Taraba State Government House.”
