Nigerian Army Denies Issuing Warning Against Davido, Jesse Jagz,Wizkid & Others For Wearing Military Camouflage

Contrary to the viral “Open Letter” from the “Nigerian Army” we all read some weeks back, warning Nigeria celebs like Iyanya, Jesse Jagz, Davido, Chidinma and other entertainers who have been seen wearing camouflage clothing at concerts, in videos & photo-shoots, while smoking or drinking to desist or risk arrest.
The Nigerian Army has denied this 'Open Letter' to celebs
In a recent interview with Premium Times , Nigeria  Army spokesman, Brigadier General Olajide Laleye, has said no such letter was issued from them, but however add that wearing army camouflage by civilians is a crime.

His words,

“The letter isn’t from the Army and I am not aware if we wrote any. But there is a law which prohibits all civilians from wearing the Army camouflage and this law binds the celebrities too,”

He added that celebrities who want to wear the military clothing (popularly called “camou”) would have to formally apply for permission from The Nigerian Army. He cited Daddy Showkey as an example of an entertainer who applied to the army for permission to wear army fatigues.
