SAD: SEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL KILLED BY FLOOD



The corpse of a seven-year-old girl, Ruqquiat Salau, was recovered from a canal in Obawole off old Akute Road, Ogun State on Sunday.
Rescue officials told PUNCH Metro that efforts had been on since Thursday to rescue the deceased, who was carried away by flood.

According to the Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Razaq Fadipe, the deceased was on her way back from school when she was swept away.
He said, “We were able to recover the corpse of a young girl of seven or eight years old who was swept away last Thursday. The deceased’s corpse was found on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the fire service also responded to seven emergency calls on Saturday.
Fadipe said, “We responded to seven emergency calls on Saturday including an inferno involving Bedmate Furniture factory at Magboro, Ogun State.”
Fadipe advised members of the public to remain safety-conscious even during the rainy season.
