WHY I SIGNED
ONTO AUGUST PEE AND REBRANDED AS iMike
Like wild
fire in harmattan, the story of Mike
Ayasado’s return, contract and re-branding hit the social media with force last
week. The ever bubbly king of swagger has taken time out to explain why he
picked his new label August Pee and
what necessitated his change of name. prerequisite
“First, you
asked why I teamed up with August Pee; right? I joined August Pee because at a
point in my career, everything seemed to have come to a standstill and I looked
to be struggling too much. It was at that point I met the guys at August Pee.
After checking out their plans for my music, I became fully convinced that this
was the place for me to be. As for the change of name, if you look at it
critically, Mike Ayasado is just
like a normal name. I changed the name to bring about a smarter and fresher
identity. Secondly, like I said in other interviews I granted recently, I made
a lot of mistakes that I regret and I am truly sorry about, so rebranding to iMike is to signify a new birth; a new beginning.
iMike is a purpose driven man who
will not take his fans for granted. iMike
is that man that is here for serious music business,” he concluded.
As for Henry Okeke a. k. a H.Man, the CEO of August Pee Entertainment, this is not talking
time because according to him every
energy he and his team have is being poured into building iMike and not for arrogant talk. “I am glad to have him on my label;
by the grace of God, his true potentials will soon be seen. That is all I can
say because the work at hand is too much to sit around and talk,” he concluded.
iMike released a teaser “For my Head” for his fans earlier in the week, and his
major single “Adaure” drops this
weekend, while a video shoot for the song will take place this same weekend.
The video is being directed by Adassa
of Square Ball media in Lagos
