Alao Akala bite off journalist ear




Being  a temperamental  and  impatience  person might have been  the cause of his needless action which made him not only to bite off the left ear of a journalist  but  also attack another with a camera stand. The assailant is Alao Akala no doubt about that, but not the familiar former Oyo state Governor, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala . This offender hail from Ago- Ika in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Akala, 50 was arraigned before the Abeokuta magistrates court for allegedly biting of the left ear of a journalist , Mr Saheed Ganiyu. Police procesutor, Sunday Eiagbejiale narrating the incident told Magistrate Martins Akinyemi that the accused attacked the two journalists while carrying out their lawful duties.
‘ Akala bite off Ganiyu’s left ear causing grievous harm and hit Olayiwola on his head with a camcorder stand. “ it will interest this court to know that the  journalist are in Aboekuta from Ilorin to research the claim that the late Chief Olusola Saraki was from Abokuta. As an indigene was giving them the lowdown of how the late Saraki was related to Abeokuta. The accused came midway into the interview, broke the camera and turned the venue upside down. He maliciously damaged  our  camcorder camera valued at 300,000 added the prosecutor.
The  prosecutor said that the offence contravened sections 355 and 451 of the criminal code laws of Ogun, 2006. But the accused , Akala pleaded not guilty to the  two- count charges of assault and unlawful damage of property because he had mistaken the journalists for prospective buyers invited to inspect his family property, which was situated at the venue of the incident. The accused was later grated a bail in the sum of #140,000 thousand with two surest.
