Trailer Crushes Footballer Mikel To Death

  This is actually a sad incident about a young footballer, popularly called Mikel who was on Sunday August 11, 2013 sent to his early grave by a trailer, which crushed him to death. The said accident occurred at Kajola in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, while the deceased was crossing the expressway.

 

Eyewitness account revealed that the villagers set the trailer ablaze, causing a holdup on the highway for several hours. The situation almost turned a riot when some soldiers allegedly shot at the protesters, as many people were reportedly injured and vehicles vandalised.

The protest was allegedly hijacked by hoodlums, who extorted money from the stranded motorists. As a result of the ugly incident, some drivers and their passengers abandoned their vehicles and fled into the bush.
